Confirmed: Man United’s stance on sale of Getafe & Atlético Madrid target Mason Greenwood

An insight into the current stance of the powers that be at Premier League giants Manchester United, when it comes to the potential summer sale of Mason Greenwood, has come to the fore online.

The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards positive news for the frontman’s host of rumoured suitors.

Greenwood, for his part, has of course enjoyed a fine season to date in Spain.

Afforded something of a 2nd chance by Getafe, the 22-year-old has fully repaid the faith of the Azulones, to the tune of seven goals and five assists across 25 appearances.

In fact, so impressive have his performances been, that they are understood to have piqued the attentions of some of La Liga’s biggest clubs.

Recent reports in the media have hinted at both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid sniffing around Greenwood’s signature, with a view to next season.

Getafe, meanwhile, have not been at all shy in confirming their hopes of bringing the Englishman back to the Estadio Coliseum this summer.

Where, though, do Greenwood’s parent club stand on the situation?

After it was previously assured that the winger’s time at Manchester United was all but over, recent speculation has pointed towards incoming owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe as giving consideration to reintegrating Greenwood into the first-team setup at Old Trafford.

As much, however, in fact looks far from likely.

As alluded to above, on Sunday, the reliable Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh insight into Greenwood’s future.

And it has been confirmed that, in the case of a reasonable offer arriving for his services in the summer, United are ready to sell.
