‘Close to €1 billion’ – Barcelona confirm offers for Gavi, Pedri & 6 of the club’s star players

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has this afternoon confirmed that a whole host of the club’s star performers have been the subject of transfer offers from across the continent in recent times.

As part of a head-turning media tour over the course of the last 48 hours, Laporta, on Saturday, sat down for an interview on Barcelona’s new video podcast platform.

And, during the discussion, the Spanish patron provided a fascinating insight into a whole host of ongoings behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Without question the most head-turning, though, came upon Laporta opening up on just some of the star members of Xavi’s squad to have been the subject of big-money bids of late.

Listing off six players, the Barca chief revealed that, in the case of the club green-lighting all of the proposals put before them, they would raise a figure close to €1 billion:

“We have received offers for Balde, Fermín, Gavi, Pedri, De Jong and Araujo,” Laporta began. “With the names I have mentioned, we would obtain a figure close to €1,000 million”.

However, the Spaniard went on to reiterate that, crucially:

“We don’t want to sell them.”
