Premier League giants Chelsea have this week been advised to seek out summer deals for two veteran members of the midfield ranks at Real Madrid.
The players in question? Luka Modrić, and Toni Kroos.
It is of course common knowledge that, as things stand, Modrić and Kroos are in line to bring a close to their respective stints in Madrid upon the close of the campaign.
This comes with the iconic pair both due to see their current terms with Real expire.
The latter looks the more likely to stay put, albeit with Kroos, just this afternoon, having admitted that he is yet to come to a final decision regarding his future.
And such uncertainty, as alluded to above, has given rise to calls for one of the heavyweights of English football to move forward with proposals to the German, and teammate Modrić alike.
Speaking on Tuesday, former Chelsea standout Joe Cole pointed towards Real Madrid’s engine room duo as the ideal summer additions, to add some needed ‘experience’ to Mauricio Pochettino’s ranks at Stamford Bridge:
“I’d be looking to bring in some experienced players to set the tone. I’m thinking is Luka Modric out of contract? Does he want to play in the Premier League for one more year? Toni Kroos, does he want to test himself?”
