Chelsea reach verbal agreement to sign João Félix

Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement in order to sign João Félix from Atlético Madrid, report David Ornstein and Marca.

The 23-year-old has fallen out with Diego Simeone earlier this season and Los Colchoneros have been looking for a way to offload the Portuguese forward this January.

Yesterday it was communicated that Manchester United are in the market to find a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and they have already started talks with Atlético Madrid regarding a possible transfer. However, they are yet to meet the La Liga side’s demands.

However, it appears as though Chelsea are winning the race to sign the Portuguese forward as they have reached a verbal agreement to loan Félix until the end of the season for a fee of €11m.

According to Marca, Chelsea would also have the option to buy Félix permanently in the summer. Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the Portuguese international.
