Chelsea await a response from Brighton regarding £50 million Marc Cucurella bid

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have submitted a bid of £50 million to sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton.

Yesterday morning it was communicated that the 24-year-old and the Blues have agreed personal terms, but they are still waiting for the Seagulls to come back to them whether they will accept the £50 million offer that they have tabled.

The two Premier League sides are also in talks today over the possible transfer of Levi Colwill from Chelsea to Brighton. However, as things stand, the Colwill deal would be independent from the Cucurella transfer.

The reaching of an agreement over the U21 England international could help push through the Cucurella deal. Both clubs are keen to finalise negotiations and the Spanish defender has also indicated his desire to go to Chelsea soon.

Cucurella could potentially act as a replacement for Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso, who is being considered by Barcelona.
