Champions League: how Real Madrid could line up against PSG

Real Madrid are missing key players Ferland Mendy and Casemiro through suspension in Wednesday’s Champions League last 16 second leg against PSG.

Experienced defender Nacho is likely to start in place of Mendy, but the Spaniard may play alongside Militao at the heart of the defence, with David Alaba moving to left-back.

Carlo Ancelotti is also sweating over the fitness of midfielder Toni Kroos, who is in a race against time to return for the club’s biggest game of the campaign thus far.

Fede Valverde missed the 4-1 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday with flu but could be called in to replace Casemiro. Eduardo Camavinga opened the scoring for Madrid against the Basque side in a rare start at the weekend and the France international could start again if Kroos isn’t fully fit.

Marco Asensio came off the bench to slot home Madrid’s fourth of the night against La Real at the Bernabéu. He will likely start in attack with Karim Benzema and Vinicius.

Real Madrid possible XI vs PSG:

Courtois – Carvajal, Militao, Nacho, Alaba – Valverde, Kroos or Camavinga, Modric – Asensio, Benzema and Vinicius.
