Celta Vigo star set for 6 weeks on the sidelines

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have on Friday been dealt a heavy blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation of the extent of the injury suffered by key defender Jailson.

Jailson, for his part, played a prominent role for Celta over the early weeks of the new campaign, featuring from the off in five of the club’s opening six La Liga fixtures.

The Brazilian, however, has not taken to the pitch since all the way back on September 22nd. This comes owing to a muscle tear in his right thigh.

Last weekend, Jailson was at last afforded the medical green light to return to training, a timely boost for Claudio Giráldez and his staff.

In turn, mere days later, it comes as a blow for club and player alike to hear of the 29-year-old being in line for a fresh, extended spell out of action.

As per a statement released by Celta Vigo, cited by Mundo Deportivo, on Friday, Jailson has suffered a ‘torn left adductor tendon’.

MD point towards a likely spell of around six weeks on the sidelines for the defender.
