La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have on Wednesday announced a fresh addition to the club’s midfield ranks.
The player to have linked up with the Celestes for the season ahead? Ilaix Moriba.
The name of midfielder Moriba is of course one which is well known across the Spanish football landscape.
This comes with the 21-year-old, at one point earlier in his fledgling career, having been widely considered one of the standout talents in the famed academy of Barcelona.
Moriba, in the end, opted to depart Catalunya’s capital, however, with his career having been on something of a downward spiral since.
Since linking up with RB Leipzig back in the summer of 2021, the Guinea international has been afforded just a pair of league appearances.
Instead, the bulk of his time on the pitch has come back in La Liga, across a pair of loan stints with Valencia, and another, last season, with Getafe.
And, as alluded to above, in 2024/25, Moriba will once again be plying his trade in Spain.
This comes amid confirmation that the talented midfielder has put pen to paper on terms with Celta Vigo.
The move comes in the form of a season-long loan, featuring an option to buy for the Celestes brass in the summer of 2025:
