Carlo Ancelotti sends request to struggling Real Madrid starlet Arda Güler

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has sent a direct request to Blancos talent Arda Güler, amid his ongoing efforts to carve out a more regular role for himself in Spain’s capital.

The topic of Güler’s place in boss Ancelotti’s squad has of course long dominated the headlines at the Santiago Bernabéu.

This comes amid growing frustration on the part of the Turk, with what has proven an underwhelming start to life in the colours of Real.

To date, Güler, all told, has managed just a trio of appearances for his new club.

In turn, it had even been suggested in the buildup to the transfer deadline that the 18-year-old could be in line for a temporary departure, for the 2nd half of the term.

As much, however, has since been all but ruled out, meaning Güler will be forced to stay put, and battle it out for his place amongst the star-studded ranks in Madrid.

And, in his efforts to do so, the youngster has this week been afforded a piece of advice by the man tasked with overseeing his development.

As per a report from Marca’s José Félix Díaz, Carlo Ancelotti has requested Güler to step up the level of ‘intensity’ in his game.

Whilst there are no doubts when it comes to the youngster’s abilities with the ball at his feet, his endeavours when out of possession are not yet of the standard required to secure a consistent run of starts in La Liga.

Ancelotti demands that his players ‘play every minute as if it were their last’, and Güler still has work to do in his bid to reach this level.

Nevertheless, confidence is abound that he will ultimately manage precisely that, on his way to lighting up the Bernabéu for years to come.
