Carlo Ancelotti labels Real Madrid star ‘cold’ in front of goal

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has moved to heap praise on star attacker Vinícius Jr.

This, of course, comes fresh off another night to remember for Vinícius on the continent on Tuesday.

Afforded a starting berth as Real’s attacking spearhead in the first leg of the club’s Champions League semi-final showdown with Bayern Munich, the Brazilian proved himself decisive once more.

After opening the scoring in style at the Allianz Arena, the 23-year-old dragged Los Blancos back on level terms late on, too, en route to an eventual 2-2 stalemate.

As much comes amid what has proven a rich vein of form on Vinícius’ part, whose seamless transition into a more central role when required has been hugely impressive.

Speaking in the aftermath of his side’s stalemate in Munich, boss Carlo Ancelotti, in turn, was drawn on his talismanic attacker’s recent exploits in front of goal.

And Real Madrid’s headmaster, as cited by The Athletic, made use of the opportunity to reveal his opinion that Vinícius has become a ‘cold’ finisher:

“Now he has learned to move well without the ball, moving at the back of the rivals. And then he’s very cold in front of goal.”
