Carlo Ancelotti highlights the area in which Real Madrid are ‘not solid’

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has pointed towards his side’s defence as being something of an area of weakness at present.

Ancelotti for his part took his place in front of the media a short time ago, for his latest pre-match press conference.

This comes as Real Madrid prepare for a return to the continent, a Champions League showdown with Borussia Dortmund lying in wait for the reigning tournament holders.

Heading into the matchup, Los Blancos find themselves in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss spell of form.

Though the capital club continue to rack up victories in La Liga, their performances, time and time again, leave a lot to be desired.

This proved the case once more this past Saturday, when Real were a touch lucky to come away from a meeting with Celta Vigo with all three points.

Speaking this afternoon, boss Ancelotti was therefore asked for his take on what exactly has gone wrong for his side over the campaign’s early weeks.

And the Italian tactician was quick to highlight one area of the pitch as the leading concern:

“We’re not conceding many goals but our opponents always have many chances. We’re not solid in defence.”
