Carlo Ancelotti explains absences of Endrick & Arda Güler for Real Madrid vs Chelsea

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an explanation for his decision not to make use of either Endrick or Arda Güler in the club’s latest outing.

Real, of course, were back in action in the early hours of Wednesday.

In the club’s final outing of their pre-season tour of the USA, Los Blancos locked horns with Premier League heavyweights Chelsea, eyeing a return to winning ways after a pair of successive defeats.

And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what the Spanish champions managed, courtesy of goals from Lucas Vázquez, and Brahim Díaz.

As much, as alluded to above, came without the contributions of two players to have played starring roles for Real Madrid across their tour of the United States.

Both striker Endrick and midfielder Arda Güler were forced to watch on from the bench as their teammates put Chelsea to the sword.

Speaking to the media post-match, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the absences of the two youngsters was put to their manager.

And, in his response, Carlo Ancelotti called for calm, assuring that:

“Endrick and Arda Güler didn’t play because both had to recover after the Barcelona match. They trained once in the morning and that is it.”
