Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Friday provided a major update on the impending return of defender David Alaba.
This comes amid confirmation that, all going according to plan, the Austrian international will be back on the pitch next month.
Alaba, for his part, has of course not been seen in the colours of Real Madrid since late last year.
This comes after the versatile stopper suffered an ACL tear, during a La Liga meeting with Villarreal.
Recent weeks have seen Alaba take sizeable steps forward in his recovery, the latest of which came on Friday, when he was spotted back in group training at Valdebebas.
Almost a year to the day since his injury diagnosis was announced, Carlo Ancelotti, in turn, was this afternoon asked for the latest on the 32-year-old’s wellbeing.
And, in his response, Real Madrid’s headmaster went on to confirm that Alaba should be ‘in good shape to play’ around a month from now:
“David Alaba is returning. It will take one month to have him in good shape to play. He will be ready in January.”
