Carlo Ancelotti’s main concerns ahead of Real Madrid’s clash with Las Palmas

Real Madrid had made a perfect start to La Liga, with five wins from games. Everything was perfect, until derby day.

Real suffered their first defeat of the season on the biggest stage and the one that they would have feared the most. Atlético Madrid inflicted the damage early in the game, scoring twice in the first 18 minutes.

Los Blancos have suffered from constantly having to come back in games, which Carlo Ancelotti made reference to in his post-match analysis. As reported by Relevo, Ancelotti said: “It is an issue that we have talked about and we will continue to talk about it because it is important. Four times the rivals have gone ahead and three times we have been able to come back.”

Real Madrid’s injuries

Ancelotti is currently working with a very thin squad, especially in defence. Éder Militão is proving a huge loss and he will not be back for at least six months.

Madrid have still had an excellent start to the season, but the worry is that things could unravel very quickly and the expose the issues. The win against Real Sociedad last week was far from convincing and had many fans questioning things, but the result papered over the cracks.

Ancelotti will face a tough few weeks and months as he waits for star players to return, whilst also trying to achieve the results that fans will demand from the team.
