Carlo Ancelotti: “After Tchouaméni, we didn’t think about signing players.”

Carlo Ancelotti discussed Real Madrid’s activity in the summer transfer window that closed last night in an interview that appeared on Mundo Deportivo.

He revealed that he had no intentions of making new additions to the squad after the arrival of Aurélien Tchouaméni. The club also evaluated each of the sales they made:

“We evaluated all the departures because I think the transfer market was closed in terms of arrivals with the signing of Tchouaméni and we never thought about signing other players.”

“Regarding departures, we evaluated Casemiro and Asensio. The market is already closed, this is the squad and I’m satisfied because I can count on the players who were thinking of leaving. They have always delivered and they will do so this year. There are many who have a year left on their contract but it’s not a problem for any of them,” he added.

Ancelotti honed in on Asensio’s situation at Real Madrid:

“Marco is happy to stay, he knows the squad very well and we know him. Last year he did very well, he helped us compete in La Liga and the Champions League. He’s going to get his minutes and opportunities, he’s going to deliver.”

Los Blancos’ coach also revealed his thoughts regarding the future of the club’s more senior players:

“The future of this club and of these players is quite clear. Modrić, Kroos, Karim or Nacho want to stay until the end of their career. That’s the club’s objective and theirs, there’s no problem.”
