Carlo Ancelotti spoke after Real Madrid lost 3-2 to Villarreal on Saturday night.
“It was a tough game because we didn’t win the ball back and they handled it well,” Ancelotti said in words reported by Marca.
“We had to chance to make it 3-1 and could have slowed down the pace of the game. But we didn’t defend well. We could have done better. We struggled to be 100% motivated. But if you’re not 100% you have to be better on the pitch.”
Doubts going forward?
“This leaves no doubts. It happened, but Wednesday is a different story. The temperature has dropped a bit, but on Wednesday we’ll be at our best. Changing the team was inevitable because there was wear and tear after the Barcelona game.”
