The brother of ex-Barcelona star Pau Víctor was afforded a call-up to training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s senior squad on Thursday morning.
This comes as the Blaugrana coaching staff work to cover for the ongoing personnel crisis in the club’s defensive ranks.
Ahead of their upcoming weekend meeting with Deportivo Alavés, Barca are currently unable to count on any of Andreas Christensen, Eric García, Jules Koundé or Xavi Espart.
Amid efforts to bounce back from a pair of successive defeats in all competitions, Hansi Flick has therefore turned his focus towards the academy setup in Catalunya’s capital.
And on Thursday, as much gave rise to a new face in the senior setup at the Ciutat Esportiva. As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Flick tested the reserve team full-back, Guillem Víctor, the novelty of the week, in the last session.’
Víctor, for his part, is a versatile 19-year-old defender, who chiefly lines out at right-back. The Spaniard is the brother of ex-Barcelona frontman Pau, who now plies his club trade in Portugal with SC Braga.
