Brazilian wonderkid Messinho sets his sights on Barcelona

Estevao Willian, often referred to as ‘Messinho’ for his similarities with Barcelona legend Lionel Messi, has set his sights on Barcelona.

The Palmeiras forward, who made his debut with the club the day they were proclaimed league champions, has a lot of admirers, but it is believed that his dream move would be to the Catalan club, as he stated in an interview with Mundo Deportivo in October of this year.

Subsequently, despite the interest of Premier League clubs, including Manchester City and Arsenal, as well as Paris Saint-Germain in France, Barcelona will be hopeful of being able to land the 16-year-old should they decide to make a move.

Although the youngster will not be able to leave Palmeiras until 2025, when he turns 18, Barcelona may follow Real Madrid’s example and pay the forward’s 60 million euro release clause in advance, as Los Blancos did with Endrick.

Transfer talks should be even smoother, given Willian’s agent, André Cury, is also that of Vitor Roque, who has just signed for the club from Athletico Paranaense. It is believed that Cury will take advantage of his trip to Barcelona with Roque to have talks with Joan Laporta and Deco about a potential signing.
