Celta Vigo player Brais Méndez has been called into the Spain squad by Luis Enrique after Sergio Busquets tested positive for Covid-19.
Spain midfielder Busquets captained the side in their friendly with Portugal on Friday and tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday. Spain’s friendly with Lithuania on Tuesday will be played by the U21 team due to Busquets’ positive Covid-19 result. Busquets is currently in self-isolation.
AS reports that Méndez has only been called into the squad to train and isn’t actually a replacement for Busquets.
