La Liga outfit RCD Mallorca are on the verge of closing a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s backline.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Mateu Morey as the player on his way back to Spain.
Defender Morey, for his part, has spent the last five years of his career on the books of German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund.
Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, however, his stint in the Bundesliga has been ravaged by injuries.
The BVB brass, as a result, recently came to the decision to allow Morey to move on, upon the expiration of his contract terms at the end of last month.
And, if the latest word to have surfaced on Friday is anything to go by, it has not taken at all long for the right-back to find a new home for himself.
As per Relevo transfer insider Matteo Moretto:
‘Nine years after his departure to Barcelona, Mateu Morey is very close to returning to Palma to play for Mallorca.’
The Spaniard has already passed his medical tests at Son Moix, with an official announcement regarding his arrival in Jagoba Arrasate’s squad therefore expected at some point over the days ahead.
