Borja Iglesias: “We will go to Braga to win.”

Spain must win in Portugal to reach the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League and Borja Iglesias is not giving up hope despite Spain’s 2-1 defeat to Switzerland on Saturday night.

“It’s up to us. That’s what we were looking for from the start. We have to go to Portugal to win, to show that we are capable of playing matches at this level and with a lot of desire. We all think the same and we will go to Braga to win,” he told Televisión Española in words reported by Estadio Deportivo.

The Betis striker’s name was chanted by the crowd at La Romareda, a crowd who still idolise him despite the fact that he left Zaragoza years ago. “I am very grateful whenever I am associated with this city and the club. I only have words of pride on my part. I love them very much.”

On making his Spain debut

“The truth is that I was hoping for a win,” said the Galician, who, despite everything, was “happy” with his game. “I’m trying to enjoy the minutes I get and do my best,” he added.
