Bayern Munich to help Real Madrid with David Alaba’s surgery

Uli Hoeness, honourary President of Bayern Munich, has said that the Bavarian club has assured that David Alaba will be operated on in Innsbruck with a highly trusted Bayern doctor.

Alaba, who left the German club in 2021, suffered an inner cruciate ligament injury in Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal, which Los Blancos went on to win 4-1. Hoeness, in an interview with Hangar 7, adapted by Marca, confirmed that the club will help with Alaba’s surgery by providing a specialised doctor. “Today, I tried to get in contact with David Alaba, but unfortunately couldn’t get through. At Bayern we have guaranteed that he will be operated on in Innsbruck by a highly trusted doctor,” he said.

Real Madrid confirmed that Alaba suffered “a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. It is thought that the trusted doctor will likely be the Austrian Christian Fink, who has previously operated on Leroy Sané and Manuel Neuer and who has been described as “one of the best knee surgeons of all time.”
