UD Barbastro, Barcelona’s upcoming opponents in the Copa del Rey, have this weekend jokingly hinted at the signing of Blaugrana star Dani Olmo.
This, of course, comes amid the ongoing chatter surrounding midfielder Olmo’s future.
Owing to financial concerns, the summer arrival in Catalunya’s capital is yet to be registered by Barcelona for the 2nd half of the campaign.
As much has given rise to suggestions that Olmo could even be on the move during the January transfer window.
With this as the context, the aforementioned Barbastro, in turn, this weekend made use of the opportunity to have some lighthearted fun at the expense of Hansi Flick’s side.
On the ‘Día de los Santos Inocentes’, a day of practical jokes in Spain, Barbastro unveiled a post across the club’s social media platforms.
The post in question featured an image of Olmo photoshopped into their own colours, accompanied by the caption:
‘We could have made a publication saying that Dani Olmo has signed for UD Barbastro and that’s it. The thing is: Who would we take off?’
