Barcelona’s stance revealed after being offered Antonio Conte

An insight into the stance of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona when it comes to the potential appointment of Antonio Conte has been provided this afternoon.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, who have confirmed that, this week, the Italian’s services have been offered up to the Blaugrana.

Barca, of course, are on the lookout for a new head coach for next season, ahead of the summer departure of Xavi Hernández.

Joan Laporta and his team are understood to have identified the likes of Hansi Flick, Jürgen Klopp and Sérgio Conceição as preferred candidates for the role.

Where do they stand, though, on Conte?

As revealed by Sport:

‘In principle, the Italian would not currently be on the preferential list being handled.’

However, it is also noted that ‘nothing has been decided’ as of yet, with Conte’s profile expected to be given further consideration over the weeks and months to come.

The former Juventus and Chelsea boss, for his part, is currently out of work, after most recently taking his place on the bench at Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.
