Barcelona’s fans will love Xavi’s post-Mallorca comments on Vitor Roque

Supporters of Barcelona will no doubt be thrilled to hear the latest comments laid out by head coach Xavi, regarding his plans for Vitor Roque.

As much comes after frontman Roque was afforded his latest chance to impress, on Friday night.

En route to a hard-fought La Liga downing of Mallorca, the Brazilian international was introduced off the bench early in the 2nd-half.

And Roque went on to enjoy a productive cameo, much to the delight of the Barcelona faifhtul.

Calls have long mounted across the Blaugrana’s fanbase for the club’s January addition to be afforded a more consistent run of appearances, since his back-to-back goals against Osasuna and Alavés between late January and early February.

After Roque was an unused substitute at Athletic Club last time out, the subject of the up-and-down playing time being afforded to his young attacker was therefore put to the aforementioned Xavi on Friday night.

And, after revealing his delight with the display put forth by Roque against Mallorca, Barcelona’s boss went on to confirm his intention to hand the 19-year-old ‘more playing time’ over the weeks and months ahead.

“Vitor Roque had an excellent 30 minutes. He was excellent in duels and created spaces. He will start getting more playing time,” Xavi revealed.
