La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to sanction an imminent summer exit for up-and-coming defensive starlet Jofre Torrents.
Jofre has for his part long been considered one of the standout developing talents plying his trade in Catalunya’s capital. A gifted left-back with explosive attacking qualities, the Spaniard was afforded four first-team appearances by Barcelona boss Hansi Flick last season.
Still just 19, the expectation was therefore that Jofre would go on to establish himself as a more prominent Blaugrana star in 2026/27, amid the ongoing struggles of Alejandro Balde.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the stopper’s development in fact looks set to continue away from his home country…
As per a report from journalist Nil Sola of Cadena SER, amid something of a shift in transfer strategy at the Spotify Camp Nou:
‘Ajax and Barça are very close to finalizing a loan agreement for the player with a deal that includes a non-mandatory purchase option of €5 million for 50% of the player’s rights.’
In the case of Ajax activating their purchase option, Barcelona would maintain a buyback clause on Jofre worth a sum in the region of €20 million.
