An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is facing up to an extended incoming spell on the sidelines.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Dani Rodríguez as the player in question.
Youngster Rodríguez, for his part, is fresh off something of a whirlwind weekend in Catalunya’s capital.
After first being afforded a place in Barcelona’s senior squad to face Real Valladolid in La Liga, the 19-year-old was then afforded his debut from the off at the Estadio José Zorrilla.
What began as something of a dream evening for Rodríguez, however, soon took a turn for the worse.
Late in the first-half on Saturday, the talented winger went to ground clutching his shoulder, before swiftly being hauled off whilst making use of a temporary sling.
Ensuing scans confirmed that Rodríguez has suffered an acute dislocation of his right shoulder.
And unfortunately for the Barca Atlètic standout, as much means both a likely upcoming surgery, and ensuing spell away from the pitch.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Dani Rodríguez is likely to end up undergoing surgery. Yesterday, he underwent several tests to assess his options with the doctors. Should he undergo surgery, the winger could be out for two to three months.’
