Barcelona working on contract renewals for trio of breakthrough stars

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have begun work towards tying three of the club’s most highly-regarded young talents down to fresh terms.

That’s according to Santi Ovalle of Carrusel Deportivo, who has this evening provided an insight into developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The Blaugrana, it is claimed, have begun negotiations with the representatives of all of Pau Cubarsí, Héctor Fort, and Marc Bernal.

The names of both Cubarsí and Fort, of course, will be well known to those of a Barca persuasion, owing to the defenders’ respective breakthroughs at senior level this season.

The former, in particular, finds excitement surrounding his talents mounting, owing to a string of stellar recent showings at the heart of Xavi’s backline.

As clubs from across the continent begin to circle, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of the Barcelona brass, this week, springing into action.

As per the aforementioned Santi Ovalle, though they are, owing to their respective ages, as of yet unable to sign long-term deals, all of Cubarsí, Fort and defensive midfielder Bernal look set to see their recent efforts rewarded.

This comes amid confirmation that Deco and his team are working to tie the trio down to new deals.

The move comes, in large part, to increase their release clauses, to ward off mounting interest from clubs in Spain and abroad.
