Barcelona will finalise their first summer signing ‘soon’

La Liga giants Barcelona are all set to close a deal for the club’s first signing of the summer over the coming weeks.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Jonathan Tah as the player primed to commit to terms with the Blaugrana.

The name of defender Tah has of course long proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the German international had been identified as a leading transfer target on the part of Deco and the Barcelona brass.

Tah’s contract terms with Bayer Leverkusen are due to expire in the summer, meaning he will be available as a free agent upon the season’s close.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the stopper’s next destination appears to be as good as confirmed.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Sources close to the player admit to MD that Tah’s desire is to wear the Barça shirt and that there will soon be a meeting in Barcelona with the Barça club to finalise the signing of the German international.’
