Barcelona vice-president confirms Hansi Flick announcement date

Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste this evening confirmed the club’s plans to imminently unveil Hansi Flick as their new head coach.

The name of German tactician Flick, of course, has positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya for the last week.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 59-year-old had been identified as the clear no.1 choice to replace the departing Xavi on the Barcelona bench.

Negotiations between the parties, in turn, were swiftly kicked into gear, with an agreement having since been found on the terms of a two-year contract.

After it was first rumoured that Flick would be unveiled on Monday, and then Tuesday, though, just when will the Blaugrana faithful at last be introduced to their new manager?

As much, it has been confirmed, will come on Wednesday, May 29th.

After being swarmed by the media in Catalunya late on Tuesday night, Barca vice-president Rafa Yuste was inevitably showered with questions regarding the club’s incoming boss.

And Yuste went on to respond:

“Tomorrow we will make it official.”
