Barcelona training confirms injury boost before Girona

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday been afforded some altogether timely positive news on the personnel front.

This comes by way of confirmation that youngster Ansu Fati has linked back up with his teammates in group training.

Wide-man Ansu was of course dealt his latest fitness setback earlier this summer.

As much came upon the 21-year-old limping out of training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, with an unspecified foot problem.

Following a round of medical tests, it was revealed that Ansu was dealing with a bout of plantar fasciitis.

He has remained on the sidelines ever since, no doubt chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch, to play his part in what has been a stellar start to the campaign on the part of his teammates.

And, as alluded to above, on Monday, the Spanish international took a major step towards precisely that.

As highlighted in footage released across Barcelona’s official social media platforms, Ansu took part in some of the club’s group training activities this morning:

It is in turn considered a real possibility that the attacker could be included in Hansi Flick’s squad to face Girona in Barca’s post-international break return to action this weekend.
