Barcelona to welcome back injured star for Brest clash

La Liga giants Barcelona are expected to be boosted by the return to matchday duties of a somewhat forgotten member of Hansi Flick’s squad on Tuesday night.

This comes amid confirmation that Eric García has rejoined group training alongside the rest of the Blaugrana’s squad.

Defender Eric, for his part, was absent once more last night, as Barca surrendered two points in a late collapse at Celta Vigo.

The Spanish international has not taken to the pitch since all the way back in early October, owing to a niggling pubalgia problem.

As confirmed by Mundo Deportivo, though:

‘Hansi Flick was able to count on Eric García on Sunday, who took part in the group session’ at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

The former Manchester City man, as a result, is expected to be given the medical green light to play his part in Barcelona’s midweek Champions League showdown with Ligue 1 outfit Brest.
