Barcelona tipped to launch bid for AC Milan sensation

La Liga giants Barcelona have this weekend been linked with a surprise move for an up-and-coming young talent at AC Milan.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Sky Sport, who point towards Mattia Liberani as the player in question.

Liberani, for his part, is a 17-year-old midfielder, who generally lines out in an attack-minded role.

This comes with the Italian youth international able to best make use of his host of technical talents whilst in the attacking third.

This past season, Liberani racked up 15 goals and seven assists in 41 appearances at academy level.

The starlet was afforded a starting berth in Milan’s pre-season meeting with Real Madrid earlier this week, and again went on to impress.

And such endeavours, as alluded to above, now appear to have piqued the attentions of Spanish football’s other biggest club.

As per MD:

‘Sky Sport’ say that Liberani has attracted the interest of the Catalans’ with a view to next season.

The stance of those behind the scenes at Milan, however, is a firm one – Liberani will be going nowhere, ahead of being promoted to the first-team setup at San Siro in the near future.
