Barcelona are considering to submit an offer to Borussia Dortmund to sign Thomas Meunier, report Mundo Deportivo.
Xavi does not want to use Sergiño Dest as his right-back and the Barcelona coach has been in the market for a replacement. The Blaugrana have been heavily linked with Juan Foyth, with whom they entered discussions regarding personal terms. However, Villarreal have put a €42m price tag on the 24-year-old and his recent injury means that he will be sidelined for the next two months.
Barça have set their eyes on Meunier as a more feasible alternative, for whom they already considered making an offer back in January 2022. According to reports, the Belgian full-back’s relationship with Dortmund’s coach Edin Terzić has deteriorated and he is looking for an exit.
It is believed that the Bundesliga side want something in the region of €15-€20m for Meunier, which Barcelona are not keen on paying. Both clubs would have to make compromises if they want to push the deal across the line before the transfer window closes.
