Barcelona star to miss El Clásico through injury

La Liga champions Barcelona will be forced to make do without the services of a key member of the club’s midfield ranks in their upcoming showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.

This comes amid confirmation that Dani Olmo is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Spanish international Olmo for his part featured off the off on Tuesday night, as Barcelona made the trip to France’s capital to lock horns with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

En route to a first defeat of the season for Hansi Flick’s troops, though, the former RB Leipzig man was forced into a premature departure from proceedings during the first-half.

Olmo, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests back in Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday morning. And the results of as much have since been revealed.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s official website and social media platforms:

‘Tests carried out confirm that Dani Olmo is suffering from an injury to his left adductor muscle as a consequence of a collision with an opponent during the game against Paris Saint-Germain.

‘The player is expected to be out for around a month.’
