An insight into the expected absence awaiting Barcelona star Andreas Christensen over the weeks ahead has on Saturday been forthcoming.
The name of defender Christensen has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the injury-plagued Dane had suffered a fresh setback.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad on Sunday, Hansi Flick confirmed:
“We have Andreas, but what I can say now is that he got injured in training today. He was an option for us for tomorrow, but he got injured again. We have to wait to see how serious it is. We hope it is not serious, but he had to leave training before the end.”
And now, as alluded to above, an insight into the extent of the blow has been provided, too.
As per a statement across the Blaugrana’s website and social media platforms:
‘During this morning’s training session, Andreas Christensen injured his right soleus. His expected recovery time is approximately 4 weeks.’
