Barcelona have this evening been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes after midfielder Frenkie de Jong was forced into a premature departure from the club’s latest outing.
Barca are of course currently locked in action, in a La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.
Hansi Flick’s troops have endured a difficult evening to date, trailing by a goal to nil after a disallowed opener for Robert Lewandowski was followed by Sheraldo Becker putting the Anoeta hosts in front just beyond the half-hour mark.
As alluded to above, though, the Blaugrana’s woes in San Sebastian have not been confined solely to the scoreline.
In addition, they have suffered a setback on the injury front.
Frenkie de Jong went to ground on a pair of occasions during the first-half this evening, first with what appeared to be a knee issue, and later one in his ankle.
And though the Dutchman did manage to see out the opening 45 minutes, he was ultimately forced off at the interval.
As per a report from Diario Sport, this comes with De Jong, indeed, struggling with a new injury concern, an update on the extent of which is expected post-match.
