La Liga giants Barcelona are set to be afforded a boost on the personnel front, upon their return to action this weekend.
This comes amid confirmation that Ferran Torres finally looks set to make his comeback to matchday duties, against Las Palmas.
Frontman Torres, of course, has been sidelined since all the way back in January.
As much comes after the Spanish international was forced to depart Barca’s La Liga meeting with Osasuna inside the opening ten minutes, with what was later revealed to be a hamstring injury.
Recent weeks have seen Torres step up his recovery efforts, spotted back in group training alongside the members of Xavi’s squad not to have been called up for international duty.
And, as per a report from Marca, barring any last-minute setbacks, this means that ‘Xavi Hernández will be able to count on him for the next LaLiga matchday’.
Despite having spent the last two months out of action, Torres remains Barcelona’s 2nd top scorer this season, his 11 goals bettered only by Robert Lewandowski’s tally of 18.
The 24-year-old’s return will therefore come as a welcome boost for the Blaugrana, as we head into the decisive stretch of the 2023/24 campaign.
