Barcelona star scheduled for 20-minute cameo vs Sevilla

The coaching staff at La Liga giants Barcelona have drawn up a plan for the return of Dani Olmo to competitive action.

That’s according to Barca insider Javier Miguel, who has on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.

Midfielder Olmo has for his part of course been sidelined since last month.

After enjoying a stellar start to life in Barcelona colours following his summer arrival from RB Leipzig, the 26-year-old was struck down by a hamstring injury during a La Liga meeting with Girona.

The hope was that Olmo would have managed a comeback to group activities by now, alongside fellow returnees Gavi and Fermín López.

After the Euro 2024 winner was still not spotted back in training on Tuesday at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, however, concern began to spread surrounding a potential setback for Olmo.

As alluded to above, though, the Barca faithful need not fret.

As per a report from Javier Miguel of Diario AS, Olmo ‘will rejoin the group on Thursday.’

From here, the plan of Hansi Flick and co. is to introduce the Spaniard off the bench during the 2nd-half against Sevilla, for a spell of around 20 minutes.
