Barcelona star ruled out for a month through injury

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday been dealt an altogether considerable blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that a leading member of the club’s midfield ranks is set for an impending spell on the sidelines.

The player in question? Dani Olmo.

Barca summer signing Olmo of course took his place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital on Sunday evening.

This came after the 26-year-old was forced into a premature departure from the Blaugrana’s 4-1 La Liga drubbing of Girona.

The initial hope was that the issue would prove to be only a minor one, with Olmo facing up to a minimal stretch out of action.

This, however, has since proven to be far from the case.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s official website and social media platforms, the club’s attacking midfield star has suffered a thigh injury, which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for around a month:

‘Dani Olmo has suffered an injury to the femoral biceps of his right thigh. He will be out for an estimated 4 to 5 weeks.’
