The trio of players voted for by Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski for ‘The Best’ award have been revealed.
FIFA’s The Best ceremony, of course, took place on Tuesday evening.
The most coveted prize up for grabs at the ceremony came in the form of ‘The Best Player’, widely considered, after the Ballon d’Or, as the most prestigious individual trophy in world football.
After missing out on the ‘Golden Ball’ in dramatic circumstances back in October, Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. on this occasion emerged triumphant, just rewards for a brilliant season in 2023/24.
The Brazilian, however, did not do enough to secure for himself a place on the ballot of the aforementioned Robert Lewandowski.
This comes amid confirmation that the Polish international placed Ballon d’Or winner Rodri atop his list of votes, followed by Barcelona teammate Lamine Yamal, and Vinícius’ Real Madrid teammate Dani Carvajal in 3rd.
