Barcelona star reveals he left Galatasaray clash with an unwanted ‘gift’ from Rafael Leão

Barcelona star Eric García has revealed that he finished the club’s most recent outing with an unwanted ‘gift’ on the fitness front.

Defender Eric for his part featured from the off on Tuesday evening, as Barcelona kicked their continental campaign back into gear in a Champions League meeting with Galatasaray.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged 4-1 victors, with Eric – an early surge leading to Gala’s opener aside – having done a solid job of keeping tabs on Rafael Leão.

Following the full-time whistle in Istanbul, though, the Spanish international was spotted with ice strapped to his right knee.

Speaking to the media post-match, Eric was therefore asked for an update on his wellbeing, as well as an insight into precisely how he had suffered the knock.

And the former Manchester City man went on to explain:

“It’s a little gift I’m taking from Turkey! It’s just a knock from a play with Leão.”

Despite his issue, Eric is expected to be available to play his part in Barcelona’s next outing, a La Liga clash with high-flying Real Betis on Saturday.
