Barcelona star returns to training ahead of Atalanta clash

La Liga giants Barcelona were on Monday afforded some altogether positive news on the personnel front.

This came in the form of Pedri training as normal alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Barcelona are of course fresh off something of a historic victory on Sunday night.

After welcoming Valencia to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash, the Blaugrana ran riot, en route to an eventual 7-1 triumph.

The aforementioned Pedri, however, played no part in as much.

The midfielder was a late scratch from Barca’s matchday squad to face Valencia, after coming down with a sudden bout of what was described as ‘gastroenteritis’.

24 hours on, though, the 22-year-old appears to be doing much better.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Pedri González trained normally on Monday with the rest of his teammates in the morning activation session, after thrashing Valencia 7-1 at Montjuïc.’

Pedri, in turn, is expected to be passed fit to feature against Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
