Barcelona star leading all of Europe in statistical MOTM prizes this season

The excellence of Barcelona star Raphinha across the season to date has on Sunday been summed up by way of one impressive statistic.

Wide-man Raphinha, for his part, has of course enjoyed a scintillating campaign thus far in 2024/25.

Looking like a player reborn under the watch of Hansi Flick, the Brazilian international has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet of his new headmaster.

All told, in 23 appearances across all competitions, Raphinha has racked up a hugely impressive tally of 17 goals and 10 assists.

And, as alluded to above, such endeavours on the part of the former Leeds United man have given rise to a continent-leading statistic.

As revealed by the reliable WhoScored:

‘Raphinha has won more WhoScored Player of the Match awards (7) than any other player in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.’

The 28-year-old will be hoping to add yet further to this haul later this evening, when Barcelona lock horns with Leganés.
