Barcelona star ‘hasn’t had a good start’ to pre-season

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has endured a difficult time of things across the early weeks of pre-season.

This comes amid reports of Alejandro Balde already struggling with a fitness complaint.

Full-back Balde is of course fresh off an injury-plagued campaign in 2025/26, culminating in the Spaniard losing his place in Hansi Flick’s first-choice XI.

The Spaniard, as a result, would no doubt have been eager to get his preparations for the season ahead up-and-running in as positive a fashion as possible.

As alluded to above, though, this has since not proven to be the case… Instead, Balde is dealing with a problem in his groin.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘The Barcelona defender has had to leave group training to do specific work in the gym due to pubalgia. In fact, he has been undergoing treatment for almost a week to alleviate his groin discomfort.’

Despite these woes, Balde is expected to be part of the travelling Blaugrana party which makes the trip to England for a pre-season training camp early next week.
