Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has sent something of a warning the way of France, ahead of Spain’s upcoming meeting with the red-hot Bleus.
One of the summer’s two World Cup semi-final fixtures has of course now been pencilled in. This coming Tuesday in Arlington, European rivals France and Spain will lock horns in a highly anticipated clash of styles, with a place in the tournament’s finale on the line.
The former head into the matchup as widespread favourites to not only advance, but to march all the way to glory in North America. Didier Deschamps’ troops have looked near unstoppable across the World Cup to date, with the country’s star-studded frontline continuing to dazzle.
Spain, on the other hand, have stuttered their way through much of the last few weeks, yet to hit top form.
One member of La Roja’s ranks who nevertheless appears to be in positive spirits ahead of the matchup, though, is the aforementioned Lamine Yamal.
Drawn on Spain’s chances of besting France in the aftermath of his side’s quarter-final victory over Belgium, youngster Lamine assured:
“I think that if France has to fear anyone, it’s us. We have beaten them in the last two games. We’re the ones who have knocked them out before. We have no fear.”
