Barcelona star Gavi is growing frustrated with the understandable caution being exercised by Hansi Flick and his coaching staff with his return to the pitch.
That’s according to Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who has on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Gavi, for his part, is of course fresh off a long-awaited return to the pitch.
After suffering a torn ACL whilst lining out for Spain late last year, the 20-year-old afforded his first competitive appearance for 11 months late in October.
And, since, his reintroduction to first-team action has been as gradual as possible.
All told, Gavi has been introduced from the bench on six occasions, only one appearance of which lasted for longer than 10 minutes.
And as much is beginning to frustrate the all-action midfielder.
As per a report from AS:
‘It is a disappointment for the Sevillian, who is taking this situation with a certain resignation, aware that he still has a long way to go to return to being the Gavi who dazzled the entire footballing world.’
An uptick in playing time is being planned for the youngster over the weeks ahead, albeit with Hansi Flick having been repeatedly advised by the Barcelona medical staff to proceed with Gavi’s return with the utmost caution.
The player, for his part, understands, but is nevertheless struggling with the process.
