Barcelona star cuts vacation short for early return to pre-season training

A headline member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to the cause in Catalunya’s capital.

The player in question? Marc-André ter Stegen.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen was part of the German national team squad which participated in Euro 2024 in their home country this summer.

The 32-year-old, in the end, was forced to watch on from the bench, as Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer continued to maintain his place between the posts.

After another busy season as Barcelona no.1, though, Ter Stegen was entitled to an extended vacation, for several days to come.

And yet, as alluded to above, the former Borussia Monchengladbach star, in the end, opted against taking advantage of as much.

As per a report from Diario Sport, instead, Ter Stegen on Wednesday reported back to The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, to begin pre-season training.

‘After two weeks of vacation and a European Championship in which he has not participated, Ter Stegen once again demonstrated his commitment to the Blaugrana club by joining Hansi Flick’s dynamic when he still had some days off.’
