Barcelona star Raphinha is inching ever closer to overtaking a club legend in the all-time goalscoring charts in Catalunya’s capital. This of course comes fresh off a spectacular opening to the term on the part of the Brazilian.
Converted to a new position at centre-forward by boss Hansi Flick, Raphinha has responded by establishing himself as arguably the standout performer in world football at present.
All told, across eight appearances between La Liga and the Champions League to date, the former Leeds United man has found the net 14 times.
And as alluded to above, in the process, Raphinha has closed the gap on fellow countryman and Blaugrana icon Ronaldinho on the all-time goalscoring list at Barcelona.
As per Marca, Ronaldinho racked up 94 goals across his legendary stint at the Camp Nou. Raphinha has now managed 89 goals, just five shy of the one-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Upon overtaking Ronaldinho, the 29-year-old would then sit behind just Neymar Jr, Evaristo (105 each) and all-time leader Rivaldo (130) on the list of Barca’s highest-scoring Brazilians.
