Barcelona star becomes first player in Europe’s top-5 leagues to create 60 chances this season vs Atlético

The ongoing excellence of Barcelona star Raphinha on the creative front has on Saturday been perfectly encapsulated in one statistic.

This comes owing to the Brazilian’s exploits in Barcelona’s meeting with Atlético Madrid.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course currently locked in action, in a top-of-the-table La Liga showdown in Catalunya’s capital.

The aforementioned Raphinha, for his part, featured from the off in the fixture, switching to the right flank amid the absence of the sidelined Lamine Yamal.

And he has since gone on to play a predictably prominent role in proceedings, in all phases of the game.

As alluded to above, though, it is the former Leeds United man’s endeavours from a creative standpoint in particular which have since given rise to a head-turning statistic.

As revealed by statisticians StatMuse:

‘Raphinha is the first player to create 60 chances in Europe’s top five leagues.’

As things stand at Montjuïc, the two sides find themselves locked at a goal apiece, after Pedri’s first-half opener was cancelled out by Rodrigo De Paul.
